The phoenix is consumed by flames, only to be reborn again from the ashes. Making room for the new to emerge requires releasing the old.

The Phoenix Project is a dedicated support service designed to empower individuals who have experienced incarceration, isolation, institutionalisation, judgement, effected and burnt out by life as it stands and wanting to change the future but hasn’t realised the magic of a rebirth or discovered the right flight path of their rising. Based in South East Queensland, we support clients in Logan and The Gold coast, with our future focused on being able to spread our wings and support people Queensland and Australia wide. Inspired by the powerful symbol of the Phoenix, a mythical bird that rises from its own ashes, the 444 Project embodies the strength, resilience, and hope that humans possess but often loose while life keeps lifing. Just as the Phoenix is reborn through fire, humans also have an incredible capacity to rebuild their lives, reclaim their power, rejuvenate, recalibrate and rise anew from the challenges they face. The transformation is only complete when we let go of the old and allow the process to evolve.

The Phoenix represents not only transformation, but also the unwavering belief that from destruction can come renewal. Through our comprehensive services, we provide our clients with the tools, resources, and a nest to rest their wings, surrounded by a flock or community so they can learn to heal, rebuild, and flourish. The Phoenix Project stands as a reminder that, like the legendary bird, those who have endured hardship are capable of emerging stronger, with renewed purpose and hope for the future. No one deserves to walk alone, so Together, we rise.

The Fire Starter

As lived experience mentors and advocacy/community liaison support workers, we listen to our clients about what their fire and flight looks like and we create their individualised plan to achieve their desired goals

Justice and Court Liason

The justice system and courts are a very difficult system to navigate alone. We assist our clients in stream lining their approach to any court or justice based requirements or interventions, and facilitate open conversations with the relevant stakeholders to remove the uncertainty and anxiety of the process for our clients.

Personal inventory and foundation building

Reflections and self work is a large part of the transformation process and so we work with our clients to identify their strengths and also their weaknesses. Once the nest is built and is cosy, we’ve built a level of trust and rapore with our new clients, and then this allows to assist them to process their ignition, the fire starting, the (phoenix) destruction, flight plans and walk with them towards their rebirth

Fireworks

No change is easy and no future success or rebirth is ever achievable without letting go of the past version of yourself and allowing the new you to be born. The phoenix completely destructs itself first to be able to begin the transformation.

4 today 4 tomorrow 4 ever

We help our clients to fill their toolboxes with all of the skills they will need to succeed in their transformation. This can be skill sets from across the board. Family and relationship support, employment and job sector support, financial dependence and skilling, resilience, the art of healing, and advocacy between all if these key points.

My story (So far) 1981-2025

Founder | Advocate | Survivor | Community Services Student

Phoenix Rising 444 Support Services

My name is Stacey Rennison, and I am the founder of Phoenix Rising 444 Support Services, a grassroots support and advocacy organisation built from the ashes of my lived experience. I am a survivor of long-term domestic violence and systemic injustice—and today, I stand for those still finding their way through similar storms.

I’m a single mother to two extraordinary children, one living with disability and the other facing complex mental health challenges. Their strength is a mirror of my own. Despite overwhelming hardship—grief, homelessness, trauma, and the crushing weight of systemic failure—I chose not to give up. I chose to rise.

I am currently studying a Diploma of Community Services, training to become a qualified support worker and advocate. My mission is to walk beside others—especially survivors, system-affected families, and men genuinely seeking to change their lives after incarceration.

Through Phoenix Rising 444, I work to provide hope, practical support, and lived-experience-led pathways for:

  • Survivors of domestic and family violence

  • Men transitioning from jail into community-based accountability and behaviour-change programs

  • Individuals navigating child safety, the legal system, or mental health services

  • Families in crisis who feel unseen and unheard by mainstream systems

I believe in truth, justice, accountability, and compassion. My past does not define me—it fuels me.

If you’re here, it’s likely because you’ve walked through fire too. Welcome. You’re not alone anymore. Im Queensland born and bred and I am no stranger to what self destruction, bad decisions and low socioeconomic struggles and trauma does to the trajectory of your life. This demise has found me with a significant amount of specialized skills now that have assisted my own transformation or rebirth process and now i want to help coordinate the new flight paths of all our clients, to lock them into their full redemption and resurrection. So long story short, im a very experienced wing woman and co-pilot so lets go!!!

The first step, making the decision to change, is often the hardest, but once taken, it sets into motion a series of steps toward reclaiming a life of engagement, transparency, collaboration, safety, dignity, and hope. Empathy and understanding from others help to make the journey easier, as it provides our clients with the support they need to move forward. Together, we can walk beside those still in their transformation phase, offering them a way out of the darkness and isolation, into a brighter, safer future. In time, our clients can rise from the ashes of their past, just as our mentors have done, to rebuild a life of their own making.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

We didn’t come this far to only come this far. Together we can!!

From our clients

Although it’s early days, we have recieved some amazing feedback from our clients

It’s hard for me to ask for help, or to admit I even need any, but Stacey really went out of her way to support me in community. She always asked permission before contacting anybody and communicated everything with me among the way.

Incarceration and Trasition Support and Community Liason Support Client

As English is not my native language, I struggle to get people to understand me. Stacey helped me in so many ways and linked me into support services that I didn’t even know about. Very grateful

PC

DV Mentorship and Support Link Client

I was at risk of going to jail, had already used up all of the adjournments I was allowed and still had no legal representation and Stacey helped me apply to Murri Court. I didn’t even know I was eligible. Stacey checks in with me every week to ensure I am doing all the right things for my obligations for court and am staying on track. Almost at the point where I will be sentenced and I’ve got photo ID again, am receiving a Centrelink payment for the first time in years and am getting support for my health and mental health. I might not have liked the honesty at first but she has always done what she’s said she will do and with a great outcome .

NB

Police and Court Support Client

Stacey got me into a Men’s changed Behaviour program so that I am able to apply to have my DVO varied so that I can be able to have my son as often as I want. He needs both his parents so it’s worth it. I certainly was very difficult to get to do anything at the beginning but Stacey hung in there and gave me some great advice and I’m in a much better position now than I was because of her plan of attack.

LM

Community Liason Client

After leaving jail, life is very difficult and Stacey assisted me to get a plan together to start my own business and to ask people to invest in my dream. I’ve now done all the designs for my clothing range and am well on the way to officially being a legit business. After so many years in jail and around crime, to have something legit is amazing. I’m very thankful for the help and direction she provided.

Over the years, many people have questioned me, in professional and unprofessional settings, about my intentions, my specific knowledge of particular situations and/or my ability and desire to want to support or advocate for people. The basic answer is that I have personal lived experience in many areas, which include the justice system, Community Corrections, Corrective Services, The Victims Register due to being a survivor of severe Domestic Violence. I have personally witnessed severe systematic failures from multiple departments which for my family, resulted in prolonged violence and abuse and further re-victimization. I’ve struggled as a woman, a mother, a victim and as a survivor, I’ve lost my brother, uncle and 5 close people to me to suicide, I’ve advocated for myself against the Department of Child Safety as a victim of severe DV, I’ve navigated the court, justice and prison system. I have a lot of knowledge, a tonne of heart and My sincere hope is to be able To ignite healing, build resilience, and empower other individuals impacted by violence, trauma, systemic and economic disadvantage and justice impacted individuals reintegrating into society. To help people to rebirth, rebuild and reclaim their lives through providing street level support and advocacy, we meet people where they are, and offer solutions, education, and the ability to tailor our support services to their particular needs, barriers and goals. We offer this, regardless of their background, gender, or circumstance.

Our Team

Welcoming Amelia to our team was a no brainer. She is fierce in her protection of others and has the drive and energy levels of being a teenager on her side. Amelia has experienced severe domestic violence in our family setting and has not only protected her younger brother but also been able to speak to Police and advocate for herself along the way. Her lived experience with DV, other support services, as well as being the child of incarcerated parents, navigating the jail system as a child visitor, her empathy for people struggling, not being listened to or unfairly treated is her superpower here. Amelia will be our Youth Ambassador, tackling all issues that children and youths face today. She also has struggled with an eating disorder, as a result of the trauma she has experienced throughout her life. Her bravery in speaking her truth and navigating her own healing and empowerment journey, will be a great asset to the children of not only our clients but any one under 18 who needs a bigger voice or an advocate to walk beside them and to help improve their quality of life.
